Gratituesday ~ Leftovers, boot camp & this song in my head

by Amanda

I hate to admit this, but today is one of those days when writing this post isn’t necessarily easy.  It’s not that the world is collapsing or anything, it’s just one of those days.  One of those days where all I’d really like to do is go crawl back into bed & sleep!  I’d like to tell you I’ve got this “living in a spirit of gratitude” thing figured out & it just comes easily, or even naturally.  I’m working on it, truly, but I’m not entirely sure it ever comes easily.  It’s a choice, every day.  And, I do believe doing this exercise {sitting down to ponder on the things I have to be grateful for, that is} helps.

So, for the record, today I’m grateful that…

1. my migraine didn’t last ALL day

2. God loves me where I’m at, despite my imperfections

3. our first face-to-face home study meeting wasn’t nearly as scary as I was worried at one time it might be

4. we have a fridge stocked with leftovers for this busy week

5. I get to work out with some fun & crazy boot campers Tuesday & Thursday mornings at 5:30 a.m.!

6. by “work out” I actually mean, tell them what to do, since I’m one of the instructors:)

7. I have some amazing sisters in Christ to go through Beth Moore’s James study with

8. God is our ultimate provider

9. I’ve had this song in my head for the past 2 weeks now.  Normally that would really drive me nutty but this one’s a good one.  If you haven’t heard it, or even if you have, check it out, I think you’ll be glad you did.

So, how about you?  What are you grateful for today?  Any advice on cultivating a grateful heart?

I love that song! I actually thought it would be fun to do as a solo sometime but then I realized that my voice isn’t fun like her. Oh well. I’ll just enjoy the original.
